Fintech Sandbox Demo Day – Boston Startups!

Fintech Sandbox‘s annual Demo Day event highlights the innovative technological solutions Fintech Sandbox residents have built during their time in the Data Access Residency, utilizing data and other services provided for free by our data and infrastructure partners.

Agxes (Cambridge, MA): Victoria Tostado experienced first-hand the difficulties that farmers face in securing funding, leading her to found Agxes to help financial institutions better understand the complex data behind farming. At Fintech Sandbox’s Demo Day 12, Victoria illustrated how Agxes is leveraging data from Equifax to train machine-learning technology, large language models, financial modeling technology and vision-language models to streamline the agricultural lending process. By cutting down the manual labor involved in reviewing financial data and introducing ways to factor in non-financial data such as soil quality and weather patterns, Agxes enables credit officers to reduce processing time by 95% and operational costs per loan review by 50%.

Gemsen (Boston, MA): When Charlie Ko realized that most of today’s advanced technologies were extremely resource hungry, he and fellow Gemsen co-founder Aoife Manley set out to find a solution. At Fintech Sandbox’s Demo Day 12, Charlie demonstrated how Gemsen’s machine-learning technology—tested with data from Massive.com—pre-computes and compresses math into a compact, secure abstraction called the Global Elements Matrix (GEM) that uses significantly fewer resources than other models. In doing so, Gemsen allows data scientists and institutions to run their models 1,000-10,000 times more frequently than currently possible while remaining resource efficient, making it easier to keep up with exponential increases in data volumes and identify subtle patterns in model performance decay or vulnerabilities. Gemsen’s technology has already been installed in Fortune 100 enterprise operations.
