Welcome Nicholas Leonard, Co-Founder and CEO of VoiceRun on this episode of π₯The Lanternπ₯
VoiceRun is a voice AI infrastructure company enabling enterprises to deploy complex, production-grade voice AI systems without getting stuck in no-code limitations or multi-year build cycles.
π What happened in 2025? π
This time last year, Nick and co-founder Derek Caneja were training text-to-speech models in a completely different industry.
By March, they pivoted into voice AI infrastructure, identified the enterprise gap, and started building.
Six months later? The team began generating considerable revenue, closed a $5.5M Seed round led by Flybridge, scaled the team to 6 people, and are launching in Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong over the next three months.
π Where is VoiceRun headed in 2026? π
There are two massive opportunities in Voice AI.
1.) Systems of record across verticals like fitness, logistics, restaurants, and travel. Think reservation platforms, booking systems, scheduling software all sitting on enormous value if they can deploy Voice AI to their end customers.
2.) Regulated industries like insurance and banking. Nick and Derek’s background in banking and regulated software gives them an unfair advantage tackling the most complex & difficult enterprise deployments where traditional solutions fail.
π€ What has Nick learned building VoiceRun? π€
AI’s capabilities are there for the taking! At high performing startups today, everyone lives on a spectrum of technical capability.
Nick (and his team) have become better Marketers, Salespeople, and Engineers using AI to 10x their output. The new baseline keeps going up and excuses for not using these new tools (and their leverage) is declining!
π€ How can we help VoiceRun grow? π€
Send Nicholas and the VoiceRun team the hardest Voice AI problems you’ve got!
They want to see the gnarly enterprise deployments with on-prem requirements, limited model choices, complex API integrations, and unique constraints.
They’re product people and technologists motivated by complexity. If you’ve thought “Voice AI would be valuable but my situation is too special, too difficult”…that’s exactly what gets the VoiceRun team excited! Send it over!
