The Engine, Part 5 with Rheyo, Nervoid & Ventum Biotech

Episode 39 of the Coworking Chronicles has us traveling to visit The Engine, Part 4…

The Engine is an incubator & accelerator supporting Tough Tech, the transformational science and engineering that solves the world’s most important challenges.

We caught up with Daniel Lundberg & David Lundberg from Rheyo, Pavana Rotti, PhD from Nervoid Inc, and Alex Kachou from Ventum Biotech on this segment..

🏗️ What are they building? 🏗️

🦷 Rheyo is building a non-invasive device that delivers therapeutics directly into teeth, no drilling required. Their first product is an in-office whitening treatment that’s faster, less painful, and fits in a lunch break

🌿 📷 Nervoid Inc is making cell phenotype analysis as simple as snapping a photo of a plant leaf. Drop in a cell image, get back molecular pathway analysis, gene expression data, and automated decision making for large-scale drug discovery screens

⚔️ Ventum Biotech is building biodefense solutions for contamination control, biological, chemical, radioactive, and particulate.

🤝 How can the Boston ecosystem help and who have they learned from? 🤝

🦷 Rheyo needs tech-forward dentists in the Greater Boston area ready to bring next-gen whitening into their practice

Daniel & David are watching MacroCycle Technologies (PET recycling), NeuroBionics (brain implant fiber), Lura Health (continuous saliva monitoring), and Drūl (periodontal diagnostics), all fellow travelers in the MIT/Engine ecosystem.

🌿 📷 Nervoid Inc is looking for commercial pilot partners in drug discovery and cell biology, and will be fundraising soon

Pavana is watching Nucleus, DropGenie, and Cypher AI – all Engine and LabCentral residents pushing the frontier of life sciences tools

⚔️ Ventum Biotech is building out its sales team and seeking large-scale customers for terminal disinfection pilots

Alex is watching Foundation Alloy (advanced materials), HyperSpectral (airborne microbiological monitoring), and a Swedish innovator working on molecular filtration for microelectronics and gigafactories

The tour continues with MGMT Boston. More from The Engine coming next week!
