The MIT Initiative for New Manufacturing (INM) and National Science Foundation (NSF) NE I-Corps Hub invite current student and post-doc researchers at New England institutions to apply by April 6 to present at NMIP 2026 (New Manufacturing Innovation Prize) at MIT on May 7, 2026.

How to apply:
Submit a simple one-page abstract (with the option to include figures, diagrams, and references). Works in progress and emerging topics are welcome. Travel support may be available for invited presenters from beyond Boston.

Compete for $50K in prizes. Gain feedback, recognition, connections, and translational support to help move your early-stage research beyond the lab towards impact, including access to mentoring, presentation preparation, fundraising fundamentals, and intellectual property resources. If your research has the potential to advance how physical things are designed, simulated, made, tested, scaled, or operated, we encourage you to apply. NMIP topics of interest include generative AI & digital twins; robotics & automation; physical & industrial AI; biomanufacturing & bioprocessing; semiconductors & electronics; nano & quantum; materials & fabrication; sensing & inspection; supply chains & logistics; sustainability & decarbonization; microgravity & space; aerospace & defense; and other manufacturing-enabling research and application areas.

What matters:
Strong research with translational potential. No startup required. Early-stage work is welcome.
