Q1 2023 Highlights

I had so much fun writing the MGMT Boston newsletter alongside you all these past three months. There are too many people to thank but…thank you. It’s been a really cool quarter of personal and content growth and I look forward to bringing you more in Q2!

I’d like to try to make this one of the best places to go for Boston venture backed startup context and community for busy operators inside of companies who want to know what’s going on around them

Top Learnings

  • The people I’ve met in the Boston tech ecosystem are as capable, talented and intelligent as anywhere else
  • LinkedIn is a great channel for content. If you can stomach thought leadership
  • Local operators are more likely to network in their function or industry than geographically. For example, a B2B insurtech company is unlikely to be sharing learnings with an enterprise application company down the street. Even if they’re both selling to CTOs and seemingly have similar GTM motions
  • Seed stage founders have an awesome super power and move incredibly fast. I wish I could bottle their energy
  • Startup employees and the overall startup community has felt pretty open so far IMO. The investor community has been a little harder to crack. I imagine they get a ton of inbound but it’s worth sharing
