NextView is a pre-seed & seed stage venture capital firm started in Boston with a coast to coast presence from Boston & New York to San Francisco (and in between!). They are high conviction, hands on Seed investors who only make 2-3 investments per General Partner each year.

NextView likes to meet Founders at the earliest stages of their journeys. They’ve backed 8 unicorns, 7 of which were pre-product when they invested like Devoted Health, WHOOP, and Drift here in Boston.

Last year I was introduced to David Beisel who, many moons ago, led B.I.G. (the Boston Innovators Group) and had a lot of foundational learnings to share on the Boston startup ecosystem. Thanks for the time Dave! One year later, I was thrilled to partner with the NextView team and Head of Platform Rachel Hodes to put together a Future Founders Soiree.

It’s not for everyone! But some talented operators dream about starting a company of their own one day. Last Tuesday we gathered 50 Boston builders to talk about what it means to start (or even think about starting) a startup with the MGMT Boston Operators Club and members of NextView’s team & builder ecosystem

Our goal was to foster an environment where people could meet, make connections, and lean on each other to navigate the (future) founding journey in one place. I think it was a success!

We had a talented group from a diverse cross section of Boston companies like Klaviyo, Jellyfish, Paperless Parts, Liquid AI, Path AI, WHOOP, AtScale, OneScreen, Scroobious, etc.

This event wasn’t investible. But if only we could have bottled it up..

Thank you to David, Rob, Stephanie, Melody, Lee, Rachel & Kaitlin for hosting. And much appreciation to Kristen Craft at Fidelity Private Shares & Travis Drouin at Baker Tilly for being the best co-hosts & sponsors.

It was a really fun night. Thank you to all who donated their time and energy!
