ALRIGHT…the Massachusetts AI Coalition has launched and MGMT Boston is here to fill you in..
-The night kicked off with AI Coalition Chair Will Ahmed from WHOOP talking about this moment and why building in Boston is a sustainable advantage, handing the mic off to his first investor and now MA’s Secretary of Economic Development, Eric Paley.
-Gov. Maura Healey then took the stage to announce MA’s landmark partnership with OpenAI and Sam Altman dialed in from California to talk about this partnership – touching upon the important context, guardrails, and advantages that arming public employees with AI will give our Commonwealth.
We love to see it! OpenAI office in Boston next..?
–Ryan Durkin took the stage to announce everything the Massachusetts AI Coalition is all about. More to come from him and the broader team (also Lantern episode loading!) but some quick high level points..
There are 3 Goals for the Coalition:
1.) Start Here, Stay Here
2.) Scale Here
3.) Join Us (from anywhere!)
In 1765, 9 merchants met above The Green Dragon tavern and sparked a revolution. Today, MA is running it back with 9 task forces driving the AI era…
There will be a lot more to come from each of these task forces, as well as opportunities to join, but just to call out..
1.) Stay Here, Start Here
-Beacon (0-1 Launch)
-Causeway (Bridging the Gap)
-Common (Builder Infrastructure)
2.) Scale Here
-Anchor (Connecting Talent)
-Tavern (Knowledge & Events)
-Harbor (Growth Capital)
3.) Join Us
-Banners (Storytelling)
-Treaty (Dealmaking)
-Adams (Belonging)
Better yet, more info can be found on their website (link below).
Hey, tonight was one event. It’s going to take thousands of builders, dozens of companies, and sustained effort to become the Global leader we can be.
We need you. All of you. And I like our odds.
Get involved!!
