Benchling

Benchling is building a verticalized software platform for biotechnology research. Founded by Sajith Wickramasekara after he dropped out of MIT in 2012, he was soon joined by Ashu Singhal to help unlock the power of biotechnology and accelerate the pace of life science R&D to build the “GitHub of biotech”. Admittedly, Benchling is San Francisco headquartered but they have a significant Boston base and founding story so…we’re gonna allow it!

PredictionStrike

PredictionStrike is a simulated stock market that allows users to invest in “stock”​ of their favorite professional athletes. Founded in 2018 by childhood friends Brad Chabra & Deven Hurt, they had an idea, got to work, and the rest is history right? Well, not exactly.

Scroobious

Scroobious is a software platform building tools to help more underrepresented founders get funded. In 2022, only ~2% of the $241B raised in venture capital investment went to female founded startups (Pitchbook). In MA, that number was 0.9%.. The numbers for underrepresented founders overall aren’t much better. 

Wyatt Bramhall, Lead Product Manager @ Perch

Wyatt Bramhall likes to dream up products that he can bring to life. Living off the land on Martha’s Vineyard, he can build products from conception to within pixels or millimeters..when he has WiFi. As a Lead Product Manager at Amazon aggregator Perch, he’s leading a supply chain roadmap to bridge the physical & digital world in order to bring more products to your doorstep faster & cheaper. 

UptimeHealth

UptimeHealth is a software platform that predicts and simplifies medical device repair, purchase, and service events. Founded in 2018 by Bill Olsen & Jinesh Patel, this team is on a mission to become the trusted source for automating care of the equipment that takes care of us. 

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is a marketing automation platform that helps companies drive revenue through e-mail, SMS, Mobile push, and more. Klaviyo founders Andrew Bialecki & Ed Hallen met at Applied Predictive Technologies outside of D.C. Next, Andrew moved back to Boston where he joined Performable, David Cancel’s startup that was later acquired by HubSpot.
